Want to add a little ‘punch’ to your layouts? Why not go beyond they typical use for a punch and take it a step further. When most people look at punches they see the typical image, a circle, square, scalloped square, etc.
While it’s true that you can use these shapes for their basic purposes and have amazing results, what if you go beyond that and think outside the box? Take for instance this layout, a simple Fiskars circle punch has been transformed beyond a simple circle into a leafy green tree.
How about using punches for titles? Here I used the negative image of the letters I cut out (the part that normally would be thrown away) then I used a Fiskars extra-large square punch to cut out around the negative image.
A scalloped punch could be just an ordinary scalloped circle or you could transform it into a three-dimensional flower accessory for any layout.
Next time you pick up your favorite punch, try to see beyond what the basic image is. Add some ‘punch’ to your next layout, card or craft!
